Who am I and what do I do?

My name is Kyle Long. I am a run coach, sports performance specialist and professional mountain athlete/ultra-runner who has spent the last 19 years helping humans fulfill their potential. I work primarily with ultra-runners, trail runners, mountain athletes and anyone drawn to the world of endurance sports.

My remote coaching program brings a world class, completely personalized training experience into the palm of your hand. Combining an extensive background in the science of what works with the practical experience of helping thousands of athletes get to finish line, I’ll give you the tools you to be successful in whatever your version of exploring effort looks like.

My philosophy is that the best program is one that fits your life needs. Regardless of if you’re preparing for your first marathon or a 200+ miler, we can and will make sure the work is productive, enjoyable and designed in a way that won’t feel like a second full time job.

Whether you’re looking to finish your first ultra, PR on a known distance or enter into longer miles than you’ve ever touched before, this is where you need to be.

Remote Programming

Chasing big objectives? Join the remote crew. Each week, you’ll receive a complete, unique to you, training plan delivered in Training Peaks. We’ll integrate any and all work needed, from runs and strength training to mobility work and rehab protocols. Each week is built around any life variables we need to take into account, from your work schedule to travel to weather and beyond. As you work your way through each training week, you’ll have unlimited access to me for questions, program adjustments on the fly and check ins anytime you need. When races or big objectives are near, we’ll strategize around fueling, pacing, gear and all the logistics needed to make hard days easier.

In short, you’ll have all the tools and resources at your disposal to be successful in your pursuits.

Nutrition Coaching

Take your training optimization to the next level. My wonderful wife Sara is a sports nutritionist and works with my athletes in a variety of ways, from bite by bite meal planning to macro coaching to 1 hour “overhaul calls”. Her nutrition coaching works in tandem with my programming, so you’ll ensure you’re fueled properly for the work you’re taking on. We’ll also tackle your race day fueling strategies together, making sure you avoid the dreaded later miles bonk.
